Extra Curricular

National Honors Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society was organized 75 years ago to promote the recognition of students who display outstanding performance in the areas of scholarship, character, service, and leadership. Membership in this prestigious organization is often considered a valid indicator that the student member will succeed in post-secondary education and life. Thousands of schools are chartered throughout the nation by the national organization of the National Honor Society governed by the Board of Directors of the National Association of Secondary School Principals based in Chicago.

Eligibility

Students in the 10 th , 11 th , or 12 th grades are eligible for membership. A student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale. Students who meet this scholastic requirement are invited to complete a Student Information Form that provides the Faculty Council with information regarding the candidate's leadership and service. A history of leadership and participation in school or community service is required.

Drama Productions

New Life Christian School hosts at least one drama production a year. Usually held in the Spring, students and even entire grade levels have put on such productions as The Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Little Women, Pirates of Penzance, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Antshillvania (Elementary Production).

Yearbook Club

Each year students volunteer to capture, record, and assemble the school's events and activities into a school yearbook. Utilizing an online yearbook application, students learn and enhance skills in design, layout, photography, and journalism.
